The Curry School is more than three buildings. It’s a first-grade classroom in Fluvanna. It’s the ball field or the ice skating rink where our athletic trainers can be found. It’s not just the now, but the possibility of the future. Each day, Curry builds upon itself. We build upon our progress; we build upon our research; we build upon our questions. The renovation of Ruffner Hall was completed in 2014. The renovation has helped us maximize the student experience, with contemporary classroom space, comfortable common areas, and a healthy, inviting environment not known in Ruffner since the 1970s.
The $37.4 million, 65,000-square-foot facility was financed with private support, including a $22 million leadership gift from Daniel M. Meyers. Bavaro Hall includes 55 individual faculty offices, 10 conference rooms, five program area suites, four administrative suites, a great room lecture hall, and a two-story atrium designed as a central gathering area.
Memorial Gymnasium’s celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2014. Established originally as a memorial to the University’s World War I casualties, this elegant facility now plays a vital role in the Curry School’s Department of Kinesiology.
