Gerald D. StarsiaExecutive Director(434) 924-6310Gerry Starsia is the first Curry School graduate to lead the Foundation since Mary Alice Gunter retired in 1994. His initial priorities include developing sustainable and reliable resources in support of the School’s aspirations, building a world-class fundraising organization and deepening engagement with alumni and donors. Mike is a retired Navy Captain and served as a helicopter pilot for over 28 years. He serves as the project lead for the Classroom Simulator as well as guiding donors through the planned giving process.Marie PaceResearch Support and Development Coordinator(434) 924-0854Marie has been a part of the UVA community for over 20 years. Marie has experience in sales forecasting, budgeting, pipeline management and executive reporting. Marie coordinates development officers’ portfolios, engages Curry School alumni and friends, and provides high level administrative support for the Foundation team.Jake MinturnDirector of Marketing and Communications(434) 924-8343Jake oversees the Curry School Foundation’s marketing and communications. Prior to joining Curry, Jake was the Director of Digital Media at the UVA Alumni Association. A graduate of UVA, he’s worked in a variety of marketing roles both within agencies and higher education. Jake is a board member of the St. Elmo Club of UVA as well as Tandem Friends School of Charlottesville.Jennifer CornellDirector of Development(434) 924-5553Based in Richmond, Jenn is focused on increasing alumni engagement and support in the Greater Richmond and Northern Virginia markets. Jenn’s background includes nonprofit consulting and management, high tech marketing, and financial services operations and product management. A graduate of UVA, Jenn is the project lead for the Nudge4 program, developing scalable solutions in education and public policy to help people make informed decisions to better their situations and improve outcomes.Daniel EpsteinDirector of Accounting and Operations434-924-1959Dan manages operations and accounting at the Curry School Foundation. Prior to joining the team, he held leadership positions in Charlottesville-area small businesses and non-profits, most recently the Legal Aid Justice Center. Dan is a 2001 graduate from the McIntire School of Commerce at UVA.Catherine ZimmermanAlumni Relations, Stewardship & Events Coordinator(434) 924-5427Catherine joined the Curry Foundation in 2017. With an extensive background in donor relations and stewardship, Catherine has worked for non-profits in the Charlottesville area and south Florida. She has also managed a small market-research firm where she was responsible for client relations, sales, analytics and technical writing. Previous to settling in Charlottesville with her family, Catherine traveled the United States coordinating environmental education programs for nature centers, state parks and local government.
